I get your reasoning but I don’t think it’s a massive coordinated effort to erase Satoshi and change bitcoin. The timing is that Square finally cleared their regulatory hurdles to roll out this feature and they had a discussion about which symbol/word to use. They picked.

The community discussion is still going. No company is bigger than bitcoin. If sats are better, it will win out and Square will change or be the odd one out.
