I dunno. it may be splitting hairs, but there were average, everyday Americans over there helping people start small businesses, plant home churches, and trying to build networks of hope before the NGOs and the CIA rolled in.
Something i’ve heard from people in several countries… in their experience, the American people are some of the most genuinely generous and self sacrificing people on the planet. But the US War State is one of the most destructive forces on the planet.
Your revealing what I hope other countries may see in the future, trust the people not the state actors. Trying to help them spot the difference is going to be more difficult going forward. Americans need to take a very hard look at what’s being done to the rest of the world. Sadly I don’t think the majority care nor do I feel they are capable of understanding anything outside this bubble built around them 
the majority do care. they just haven’t known. But i know a secret the State doesn’t know yet. I’ve heard the soccer moms at starbucks talking about how we can no longer trust the government. I’ve heard about what is being talked about in small churches across the country.

My sample size is far to small, and biased, and my hope is to be wrong in my assumptions. However, I will not trust until I can verify.

Hopefully, you are right ! Maybe the true Cesar within will awaken and ignite the ability of critical thinking that has been systematically beaten out of them their whole lives ! Trust the science! Even though the experts seem always in a state of “surprise”
