I think the permissionless payments is more about enabling the communication of value signals in a way that can’t be stopped than the obsession with or accumulation of money. It’s a big deal. Maybe I misunderstand what you were saying though?

How else do I tell really tell someone their work educated me, or tell a relay I value their sibling of electricity into relaying?

Words, which are a lower value signal because of engagement farms, bots, especially ChatGPT… Imagine GPT-10…
And sats, which are a higher value signal because you can’t fake a sat.
Also, relay operators can’t pay for their electricity using my words of affirmation.
