yes, its manditory for bitcoin power users. its also my copy of the ledger and my vote concerning consensus.

Agreed! I also wonder what stops someone from running a node for bitcoin… Maybe a lack of understanding? It doesn’t appear to be adoption in general, but perhaps that’s a part of it too…

i think there is a lack of options to get the job done. plug and play is the way, most do not have the mental bandwith to learn command line etc.

Is there another option other than bitcoin.org? 😏

cant go wrong w/diy and bitcoin.org 🤙

i chose umbrel i love the ui.

Yes. Node runner. Why? I'm not a tech guy but can run a node and play a critical role in securing the #bitcoin network.

Do you think it’s too tech for most to run a node? I’m curious why anyone would want to stack BTC and not be a part of it’s beautiful structure and security…

I know it is not tech holding people back. Maybe cost of the node is an issue. I used to run the raspberry pi that was an adventure in tech + $200 usd.

The new umbrel home server is plug and play with no tech required... only need about $400 usd.

So I'm thinking cost has to be an issue. If I only had a few million sats, I might not run a node and just buy more sats.

I’m running mine on my NAS with my laptop, but I have a bit more than a basic home network. And a pretty weak laptop. But it gets the job done. I’m at about $400 in. And there is never enough storage…. Lol so that number will at least double this year….
