Serious question.

you lose your cold card, phone wallet, trezer etc and you need to retrieve your funds with your seed phrase.

Isn’t logging into another wallet with your original seed phrase exposing you to a hack? I always hear this

“Never put your seed phrase into any device that is not your hardware wallet.”

Is best practice to then move your funds again, to another seed phrase, in order to protect your funds?

No because you buy another hardware wallet and put the seed phrase into the new hardware wallet. If you loose your hardware you cant move anything because you need the hardware to sign the transaction

So writing your seed phrase into a new hardware wallet is air gapped? But If I move my seed phrase to an electrum wallet, is that opening it up to hack because it is connected to internet? I’ve just always heard never write in your seed phrase to something connected to internet. I think most people are not aware.

Only if you download a fake electrum wallet and if your phone is hacked. Or sim swapped. Bitcoin has never been hacked itself..

Also its permissionless so if you want you can change your wallet ever week or every day or every hour 🤔
