nice point of view again and thank you for your digging work.

i focus only on one point 10.

"10. Changing op_return to be cheaper than witness data SHOULD get arbitrary data users to prioritize using op_return. ".

I have often read this technical issue about "OP_RETURN' was only a little technical problem.

How can all the clever guy only imagine a technical solution based on a "should" ?

And "if" extra data is used in both place ? "OP_RETURN" AND the current "witness data".

It is true, core devs have a lot of work to do to explain their choice to the node owners, and it is as normal as only write code.

You can't ignore doubts or questions, you have just to answer all, until doubt are left or another solution is found.

It is how consensus works when you don't host the code you produce.

You'll never get more than "should" when attempting to limit adversarial behavior from a learning and adapting enemy. You simply cannot imagine every way they might attempt to attack.

You WILL lose if you let that paralyze you into doing nothing.
