The only thing Crypto promises is that they will go to zero.

Bit coin is a safe bet. But it won't be the last or even the most important crypto. No matter what Nostr bois say.
It has nothing to do with what anyone on Nostr says. It has to do with the properties of bitcoin being totally different than any cryptocurrency. Others have tried doing something Similar to bitcoin with a fixed supply and decentralized etc. However, they have a lot of catching up to do to actually surpass Bitcoin.
Plus, if someone calls it crypto, it's a tell tale sign of, "it will go to zero".
Quantum computing has a real possibility of making the value of a Bitcoin zero.
Bitcoin transactions are extremely slow.
I could be wrong. Its already outlived my expectations.
But I dont expect it to be the last digital currency. Just the first successful one.

I'm not sure about quantum computing because of what I've heard from people who actually understand it, and it seems there's a misconception causing the fear of ot taking down bitcoin.
But yes, as people realize what actually works, and work from actual first principles and decentralization and such, in the future there might come something that out competes bitcoin.
