I "pruned" is for the first time this spring. A better term may be massacred though.

The leaves look similar to papaya

Last year there was a papaya next to it! But it died in the winter. I am now wondering how much of that papaya spirit is in fig right now.

Sorry about the papaya. Gardening is tough sometimes but the flowers, fruits & trees growing make up for it though
