congrats! I'm coming up on 40. I've changed careers every 5 years. horizontal vs vertical is how I think of it. Keeps my spirit young I think. Here's to an eventful 2024.

My best advice is to do a bunch of things that you find enjoyable and/or interesting regardless of whether there's an incentive to do so because in the future there may be a new role created that requires a combination of those skills.
