I’m struggling to see that it’s worth it even as a heater, but still potentially a good side project. To me it looks like a heater build will cost about $300 (a super quiet fan costs like $120) and kick off about 90 cents a day if you were running it 24 hrs. Ignoring price changes and upcoming halvings more efficient miners will keep coming online so it probably won’t get much better. Tough to see a way to break even - though it is possible with crazy price swings.

If you're looking atbpure cost effectiveness, yes you're better off just buying on exchange or whatever.
