Are Presidents actors, or actual members of the ruling class?
Do rulers select Presidents as people who can play a role without knowing what's going on, or do they select among themselves to ensure they get someone loyal and "in on it" ?
Does the President know how the secret service protects him, or is it all just a show to help him stay in character while he has no idea what the people with real military equipment are doing?

I think this seems true.
The key thing is the protection / military part I mentioned. I don't think the president has much idea how a phone was secured, how secure it really is, who's really listening, when someone hands him a "secured line" for a phone call.
The people running that stuff control him, to control us.
I think it's mostly all theatre.
