Well my experience was the following: A user DM’d me, asking for help with relays and as I was 100% sure that #[5] was definitely the more knowledgable guy, I recommended to ask him, by taggin him in our DMs. Right after I tagged him, #[5] said, that he had received a *failed to decrypt content* from me.

No one was tagged so far in the DMs 🤔

It could’ve been coincidence? 🤷‍♂️ #[6] you’re not on Iris or Amethyst right? Damus only?

Yeah, could’ve completely been 🤷‍♂️💜

Yep, Damus only

Check requests both of you, I just tagged you both in DMs to myself.

If you’ve gotten that same message from me, that proves it💜

Just tried the same thing to you 😂

Yep, received it

Same! Looks like my hypothesis was right 🤓

What’s probably happening is a DM is attempting to tag me which sends me a message but because messages are E2EE I don’t have the key to decrypt the message that tagged me between two other people. At the very least that seems to be one of the ways this error message is prompted. There may be more scenarios where your key is expected to decrypt something but can’t.

This is my best guess, someone more knowledgeable than me should step in 🫡

looked like Tanel Dm'd me but it says

in the meantime you did that, my dm to @21millions got sent 5 times repeated in a row and everything freezed lmao

lmao 🤣🤣

I just sent ‘ #[4] ‘ to a DM to myself, that’s all.

Same with @21millions

so that's a new thing for me, it had nothing to do with this current issue

bc it didnt posted a weird encryption on my own timeline like the first post of this thread:

we're literally #bugbusters btw

Yeah, but you might have been tagged in DM’s that you were not part of, which is what I’m saying.

So it initially wants to treat it similarly as any other post that you got tagged in.

Would be my guess

Oh I see what you mean, yes! Maybe is that
