Bitcoin blocks don’t just store transactions — they’re also linked together by cryptographic hashes.

Each block contains the hash of the previous one, creating an unbreakable chain.

To change even a single past transaction, you’d have to redo all the proof-of-work for that block and every block after it — across the entire network — before the rest of the miners add new blocks.

That’s why Bitcoin’s history is practically immutable.
