It does not send any data no-where, this stuff is on your device only. People (normies) love and want that kind of functionality.

Personally I prefer GrapheneOS over iOS nowadays. Using both daily.

Can confirm, I see the flashes on our baby phone in night vision mode. But I wasn't surprised since my wife uses face id.
