That's exactly what I mean with "notes and replies".. that's a way to see level of engagement.
Number of followers became a shitcoin when a big client started and created the initial follow list for new users.. the elite follow list 😅😂 (thing is many of them are not active at all or they just post a copycat of their X notes, without answering to comments on Nostr, or doing it very very rarely).
You’re a moron (speaking generally, not directly at you) if you think someone’s follower count is a valid metric for anything, it’s not.
If you want reach, just use hashtags, more people will probably see that anyways. 😁
Yes, I do agree with you, and that's exactly why my note.. we should all start to consider more how much an npub is active, in the sense of actively engaging with other npubs.
The reach (or what you see on your feed) depends and is determined by the clients, and by the relays you are connected to. Hashtags do work, but not the same for every client.
What I want to underline is that to eliminate "Influencors" or that kind of behavior, it's the user himself that should be more aware of who he wants to have on his feed, and what kind of people to follow.. cause there's clients that farm for them new users daily without them havin to create any value, or without them engaging with anyone.
