We aren’t really tbh, feel like people are burnt out of nests a little and just taking a small break.

The initial excitement of the newness of everything is going away for the major part of the community, that joined with the Snowden/Jack wave in February.

Feel like the next wave will arrive, when new Nests will launch and/or integrated into Damus

Wow… I’m curious about what it will be this new nests 🪺

In addition, I seriously don’t think we’ve had that much of good and high quality content on zap.stream yet, that would make people want to join.

If you had like a live weekly course on there, with VODs for education sake, then I’d tune in.

In addition, a lot of the content creators on Nostr don’t want to show their faces, which in turn is a huge part of retention, when it comes to live streaming

Courses?

Yeah, like if somebody went through a “Step-by-step how to set-up your own relay” with a live Q&A.

Or if people did like “Judge my code or design etc.”

It’s hard to judge design :( if it’s not good you end up just telling people to fix everything and it can feel depressing to them

I’d agree, it’s much more difficult with design, as a lot of it is down to the matter of taste etc.

But atleast the fundamentals, or even bouncing ideas in terms of the Q&A.

The main idea is that you want to connect the viewer more with the streamer. Turning a viewer into a participant increases retention and connection with the streamer.

This is down to the idea of streamer, the way that the streamer communicates and also the features that we have available

I watch grinder and Kieran all the time and both do a great job engaging with chat and answering questions.

I also do occasional chat but nobody asks any questions. Happy to share anything I know.

Weird thing is ill see 20 people watching the stream and nobody says anything 😂

Kieran and Grinder do an amazing job, mostly I just don’t understand code nor play Diablo, to turn into either of them. (Mostly turn on Kieran’s stream for his good taste in music)

Not weird at all, I mostly jump on the stream on-the-go (read: on my phone)

I would love to say “Hey!”, but because I haven’t bothered setting up my Nostore so far, I’m unable to, as I can’t log-in. 💜

I think when native vod is available they’ll be easier to populate the site with content.

Oh yeah absolutely.

And even though it is currently able to share, that you are live as a post on your timeline, then let’s say I do like a 4-5 hour stream for example. Would I wanna constantly post about it? Probably not. I’d like to see a border around the profile image on my client, and it saying live on that border, so that it is brought to my awareness, yet subliminal.

(this is far into future speculation 💜)

That’s a good idea!

Maybe Nests and zap.stream could have differently coloured borders for separation? 🤔

Not sure, something to think about for client designers
