I can agree with that but where does the filtering stop? Does filtering actually stop the problem of "Spam". What if knots only get 5% of nodes.

I am of the opinion this is a lot of fuss about nothing much. As I said I am totally on the side of Bitcoin is money but I am against filters. I am a fan of privacy and knots hinders that for my Dojo.

Hasn't the OP_Return " problem" been done to death? The Genesis block has a message, that isn't money, where is the line drawn?

The various “wars” in the Bitcoin community provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes in this very rich Bitcoin ecosystem.

There has been no shortage of examples in the past: BCH, BSV, Block size war, UASF. They are not easy to understand in hindsight when you have not been directly involved.

Today's war between Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Knots gives us the opportunity to understand things at first hand, to form our own personal convictions, all of which are respectable, and ultimately to tip the balance in favor of the side we collectively want to see triumph.
