Just chilling at the beach, saw loads of people out on the upper walkways with flags etc, figured there must be a ship due back, or heading out...there is & I've got the best view in the city;

Is this where you pull your boat out into the middle of the harbor so you can get an even better view?
D'ya know, if I'd had had any idea I'd have tried - albeit in vain - 20 minutes before I came out the police boats were scooting around turning away every yacht and pleasure boat from the harbour entrance - it's quite a show watching her leave because of all the security
As someone who at least owns a boat, and goes out on it often enough - it is one thing to be on the water to get a good view, but quite another to be the guy zipping around infuriating the harbormaster, the ship captain, etc. Those asshats ruin it for everyone else.
