The stupidity will continue until it's too painful to be ignorant. You can lead a horse to water and make the learning curve smooth as butter with good education, but stupid can't muster the effort to learn or else they wouldn't be stupid in the first place.

I only half blame the education system. I was lucky to have had parents and other adult figures who taught me to think critically. But as you said, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him think.
