I used to think “devs not caring about users” was just truly indifference… but after seeing how hard it is to build an app with an empathic approach, aka:
viewing the app through the lens of different personas, how that informs how you design features, collecting user data and designing user stories… I definitely have more empathy towards both users *and* devs now. You don’t know what you don’t know.
This was never anything I was exposed to at previous jobs, but i’m starting to believe it’s one of the most important things.

this + having someone take care of politics is exactly what gave rise to product function in tech startups

i always saw them as a superfluous annoyance, but this was just my ignorance and not seeing the bigger picture
