It’s interesting — I see a lot of Christians in the Bitcoin community, and was especially surprised to see Breedlove discussing his faith. But there’s so much about organized religion that seems incompatible with the libertarian leanings of Bitcoiners. I’m kinda stumped by it. I am wondering whether there are more decentralized denominations that don’t have these big hierarchical power structures.

Any church that is non denominational, which are growing pretty fast. There seems to be a lot of people that are tired of the religious dogma (including me) that has nothing to do with a relationship with God. You probably wont hear about them other than at a local level. For an example, I have a friend that has mostly neighbors meet once a week to talk about faith, the bible, other spiritually relevant topics at his house.

You’ve got a great point. I’ve felt the same for awhile now. I think people can be spiritual but you have to seek it. I’m being very simple here. The spiritual war should be between you and a god, that seems decentralized. If that spiritual war turns into real world violence, radicalization and/or cults, that centralized. Some need to the church atmosphere and some don’t.
