Canada restricting oil to the U.S. would be more disastrous than restricting electricity.
American refineries are only equipped to process crude oil. And the U.S. only has two options for crude: Canada or Venezuela.
“But what about American shale?”
Yeah, the U.S. has some of that but no refineries to process it. The choice really is between Canada or Venezuela.
And as bad as things are with Canada right now, relations between the U.S. and Venezuela are worse.
