My new understanding of the current state of the US is that we may start to eliminate a lot of the waste, fraud and corruption; however, with respect to inflation and the national debt, fiscal dominance remains and nothing stops this train.

In terms of books, we are transitioning from an upside-down, backwards world (like 1984) to a controlled demolition of the dollar via inflation, which may involve authoritarian tendencies (like Mandibles).
