they changed the license to a CC nonFOSS a few weeks ago.

No more updates possible from FDroid

total bummer. I liked that app (and sent them some monero)

And so, if needed, I could run and host it myself?

Or am I now their hostage, as with Google Keep, and it's time to migrate?

This sucks. I think this would mean it is only source viewable? Or is it worse than that? Not sure.

Notesnook is a good alternative if so.
