My programming language journey has mostly been influenced by the toolings around the language.

Started with C#/C++ but hated visual studios because of the size of my PC not being too powerful so abandoned it

Did some java, used netbean and then intellij for a while, the packaging story (maven) left much to be desired. Did some mobile dev as well but similar issue with the toolings

I never really had a powerful PC early on so only tools and frameworks that were really flexible were my go to options.

Python, JavaScript, golang check these boxes because the barrier to get started is just so low and the toolings are simple.

Rust also has great tooling but is a hard language to learn 😅
