I was thinking about a similar idea while running this morning. I framed it as “searching for my new normal.” Idea being that today I feel comfortable doing X thing. But to get to Y thing I have to go through a bunch of discomfort. But once I reach Y, I will feel the same level of comfort as X. My new normal will be the comfort of Y. So maybe the challenge is to (as much as possible) be seeking my new normal. Hope that makes sense.

It makes absolute sense! I strive for these activities daily. I know to be good at X, im going to have to suck for a period of time before I reinvent myself to such desired outcome of X.
