I knew this kid once that was interning on a team with me. He had just finished his bachelor’s and was seriously talented. He told me he wanted to get his phd, but wanted to work the job we were already doing.

I tried to convince him it was a complete waste of his time and money. He got offered the job at the end of the internship and turned it down to go back to school. I wonder about him a lot.
