At first, the body fights back.

In the first few hours without food, it lowers sugar, burns reserves. It tries to hold on.

After a day or two, glycogen’s gone. Fat takes over, fueling the brain.

Then, between day three and five, the real suffering begins.

Muscles start to waste. The body feeds on itself. Even the heart.

And children… they stop crying.

Because they can’t anymore. Just silence.
