Even if vaccines were as good as they say they are (and they're not), there would still be a problem: Protecting millions of people with congenitally weak immune systems means that the genes for weak immune systems will spread widely through the population, greatly weakening it. Given enough time, this could lead to us becoming a species totally dependent on continuous mass-scale industrial/medical intervention -- a species unable to survive in the wild.
