Mine went that route too, not liver cancer, alcoholism. She started well before I was born & then recovered when I was a teenager. We never recovered though, it was like not having a mom. There was a person there the whole time, but it was a shell. Hopefully you had a decent relationship with yours & miss her terribly still. Then although it was too short & you were robbed you still have memories that can sustain you.
