if a username request is denied, is there a way to clear it so it can be requested again (?)
tested with username "_", can't assign it again after denying it once 🤔
Ditto has a relay, so easier way is to just use nak on the Ditto relay: https://habla.news/u/alex@gleasonator.dev/nak-sync
There is no UI option for that yet.

ok, I'm sure there is a better way but I just temporarily disabled the check in ditto.ts and requested it again. 👍
