Does anyone know how to help?

I was trying to help an acquaintance with their new node, a raspiblitz. It seems this is the 2nd time their ssd died after initial download of the timechain.

502 Bad Gateway error, which I thought would be a peer problem,

He reflashed his sd card and now once again the ssd won’t light up.

Anyone know what to do?

SD card or ssd?

I think his ssd may have a problem. He already flashed the sd card, but after doing that the ssd isn’t responding.

How about the RAM? I think it needs to be > 8GB

Did that change? I’m still using 4GB but I haven’t done an initial download for a couple years now.

I have a node running on a thinkpad. Switched to 8G of RAM & everything runs a lot faster.

Might not be the issue, but you could try & see if it works

I run it on my daily driver, which has 32gb of memory and NVMe. Takes about 8 hours. Most of the time is literally writing the transactions into the database, because usually there's a checkpoint less than a year back so the majority of it only needs a check of the sequence of block headers and then writing the transactions.
