The Light Phone II is a premium, minimal phone. It will never have social media, clickbait news, email, an internet browser, or any other anxiety-inducing infinite feed.

It's an experience we call going light.

It's a phone, it calls and texts. There is a customizable menu of simple tools, and a dashboard website to manage everything. There is a headphone jack, bluetooth, and it can be used as a personal hotspot.

I've checked this out before, I dig.

But, it should only be like $50, IMO.

It's a good concept but I would only use signal or simplex for messaging, not texts.

Agreed. I just want to fork it to support simplex and nostr only.

Do you have it?

Not yet. Considering it.

$300 for that is an absolute scam.

What mobile phone isn’t a scam?

So no Bitcoin wallet apps? That and no email is a deal breaker for me, I’m more than capable of uninstalling toxic apps on my own.

Good point. How do we fork this and make it do bitcoin? πŸ€”

Almost perfect but likw with a lot of these types of phones it's always missing comething like this one is missing private text via signal or simplex

Wondering if it could be flashed with a custom OS that includes those things.

That would be cool. Honestely wish BlackBerry 10 never died. Did messaging right with the blackberry hub. Had gestures based UI before everyone else just never got the app support. Wish that some day it gets open sourced its a much more fleshed out OS then most things out there.

I rock a Pixel 3a running Ubuntu Touch when going out. Its dead simple basic stuff works call text emails. It has a waydroid app if I do need some essential apps. Sandboxed de googled android environment but fact I have to open app and it drains battery fast I avoid it at all costs which is good when I'm out I do not want to be tempted by phone. Ubuntu touch has a telegram app hopefully a signal app one day. Society really makes it hard to avoid a smartphone which is really sad. I wish I didn't need to carry one everywhere.

Great Cameras is another feature that keeps smartphones in everyone pocket at all times.

Can we install Amethyst ? Otherwise it's a no-go now πŸ˜
