I would recommend making the requirements of certain questions optional. If a person is not attending the HK meetup, they don't really need to answer the subsequent question about how many people they will bring.
I asked my japanese friend who lives there about a place, and she asked if you guys has an specific city in mind and if you all also need hotel.

Does a town of 20MM ppl allow dkr nostriches to connect as well as a town of 2k?
Perhaps a village with an easy rail connection?

rough consensus says Tokyo but I hope the event can inspire and help other meetups and events form around Japan
