Went through my follower list last night and purged some accounts that never made it.

When reviewing them they had a little bit of engagement and then fell off.

Many with Bitcoin in their profile.

In a way I see that as a problem point

we can work in the community.

There is a bit of a learning curve when joining Nostr. I’ll continue to do my part onboarding new plebs because I know many will blossom here. A little goes along way.

Glad to have survived the purge 🫂

Lol of course man.

I purged accounts that were dead for a month. 🤣

You are a true OG ⚡️

I think some of the noobs feel a bit intimidated about posting and just being new. Hence the few posts and fall off.

Personally I try and engage with accounts I don’t recognize or who clearly look new. Sometimes a single act of outreach or friendly vibe makes all the difference.

And a single zap saves.

⚡️

Glad to see I was worthy of staying on the list 🫂🤙🏻

Made it by a hair…. This time

💜

It would be interesting for clients (especially mobile) to pre populate a note (or even a draft of a note) with something to the idea of “we know this is new, use #plebchain to start connecting with people actively engaged in helping you along the way”.

Gives new folks an immediate point of assistance without always having to jump into global to figure things out or know someone who is already using Nostr.

I say especially mobile because of the world we live in - so many people use mobile apps for social interactions

I agree with all this, but we need to be this pre populated note until the nostr community figures out the best way to on board… heck maybe plebchain is that

100% agreed

Are they not engaging or just not engaging on your posts

Dead accounts. Not posting, not commenting for a month.

New accounts that have a few follows. Just never gained traction

Keep in mind. I farm new plebs on global to engage with them and try to help them setup and get them past the initial hump. I probably have a few more newbs in my follows than most people so my sample size is higher.

Good ref point nonetheless. Because of the sample size, you’ve got a very unique perspective.

Agreed, it really helps when we message a question, tell them about #plebchain, and are willing to answer questions about the ux…. This is what I have had the most success with

All in due time. What was your tolerance for purge? 2-3 weeks?

Their souls could be saved with a zap 😂⚡️🤙🧡

Plebs Stronger Together.

Keep doing a great work educating young plebsters

We have a unique opportunity to onboard with Nostr. We would be foolish not to. 😃

The garden needs tending to produce. 🤙⚡

Been busy lately, and can’t find the time to open Damus for more than 5 minutes at the time. I miss it, but the biggest barrier to engaging back is the way notes are displayed in the timeline. As you scroll, you can’t figure out what the conversations are about. You need to tap every post to understand the context. It would be nice if replies would be displayed with the original post above to reduce the cognitive load. Cc #[2]

I think that’s why a lot of people just use the tab posts instead of posts and reply’s

I have to do a little house cleaning as well.

If you don’t mind. Provide a little feedback after your done.
