Gotta sell those ads for Bitcoin companies and sponsors. No different than any other thing driven by ads and sponsors.
Just look at the Bitcoin Conference.

its worse than that. look at nostr:npub10atn74wcwh8gahzj3m0cy22fl54tn7wxtkg55spz2e3mpf5hhcrs4602w3
ostensibly a show about self sovereignty, privacy and open source software, and one that isn't beholden to sponsors
but it completely fizzled covering any actual disruptive tech.
maybe Matt just went all-in with Dorsey and Mallers and the KYC compliant crowd.
but it indicates to me that the problem is at the social layer and bigger than just sponsor appeasement and fiat addiction.
That used to be one of my must listens until Nostr came around and that's all it's about now.
Has been a few bangers lately with Calle and Zeus to be fair but those dudes stand on their own.
Just because you don't have ads doesn't mean you can't still be bought off.
I just stick with nostr:npub1jcympy69pht7ptan39se4nd09e4q66qhey649uu3rczm2zh88c7s0n2890 now for any of that stuff.
They have ads and I'm fine with it.
exactly. even if it's not a out-and-out "buying off" with money changing hands, its social consensus. which is the real buyout anyway. people adapt their expressed views to match their peers. its much more insidious than straight-up bribery.
gotta have all the influencers keeping the Overton window squarely over non-controversial tech.
otherwise it effects their social standing, their bottom line and they're bad business partners, bad husbands and bad parents.
