In what way do you think we are lacking critical thinking?

This is a great example. You're using the word "we", either you lack critical thinking, or you seriously need help (or both).

Now, about "billions of years" of evolution.

I am sold on the idea that the earth is a few cars old, even as a Christian, it makes sense to me, same as the big bang.

However, organic evolution (not to be confused with "adaptability" or with "mutation") is a completely different thing.

The level of complexity on how everything works together, with very specific functions, in each organism all but debunks the idea that these evolved from nothing but a cell. It's highly unlikely that such complexity could arise from random mutations and natural selection. Additionally, as organisms mutate, the legacy organism gets left behind and replaced by the newer version. How do you explain that there are still monkeys around, but no cro-magnon or Neanderthal humans around? We mutated to what we are today, so those steps of the homo sapiens was just deleted and replaced by modern humans, who are still mutating (and probably will indefinitely).

Critical thi king requires understanding what the word "theory" means in order to allow our brains to keep searching for more evidences to either confirm or deny each theory.

At this point, creationism, evolution and everything in between are just that, theories, just like my arguments above, which is what makes me so certain that, when someone ascertains theories as absolute truths, usually because "scientists have found" (which scientists?) or "experts confirm" (who made them experts again?), those individuals lack critical thinking, which requires one to question everything (yes, even my faith) in order to attempt to reach the absolute truth.

Theory means "A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena." pay attention to the word "predictions", it's not the same as the reasons why it rains, which have not been theories for a couple of centuries, since there is nothing left to find, and the truth about rain works every single time, no exceptions.

So, you see? These are the reasons why the world is controlled by a select few, the ones that challenge theories, ask questions, and are not satisfied with anything except undeniable evidence.

Having said that, are you still sending me the valid and undeniable evidences?

natural selection is a part of the evolutionary process. However, it is only part of the process, not all of it. Another part is the quantum connection. There may be still other parts. Darwin, like all great scientists before him and after him, was only partially correct. The quantum connection brings an elegant unity of design, worthy of God, to the entire universe. The most recent cosmology which has united with particle physics and quantum mechanics implies a quantum connection from the instant of creation, when the universe was created through a single quantum event in an infinite sea of entropy. From 10 seconds after the start of the universe almost the entire gross evolution of the universe is predictable, on the average, by quantum mechanics and relativity. The new physics and some forms of mysticism further imply a quantum-connection mechanism at work in all facets of evolution from the beginning of the universe to current, individual acts of creativity. David Bohm's model of the implicate order explains the information-rich universe and evolution in terms of quantum mechanics as an unfolding of infinite truth outside of our time and space. God is a creative process. The fine-tuning of the universal constants--such that if some varied by as littleas one part in 10, the universe as we know it would not be possible and neither would evolution--indicates a quantum intelligence at work using the quantum connection to influence our evolution. For this and other reasons, and as much as it will alienate me from the scientific community, which I respect, I subscribe now to the quantum connection and I believe in God as the creator of the universe.God is the infinite process, within the infinite universe of all universes, by which creativity is forever expanded. God exists in the quantum timeless universe of infinite information produced by the set of all Moral Societies that have ever existed and ever will exist. Everything that exists is created by a Moral Society and is part of a Moral Society, as was foreseen by Spinoza. Everything that exists is a modification in the infinite process that is God. God creates us as we create God by expanding forever the creativity of the universe. The ever expanding creativity of the universe is the glory of God. We worship God by doing our best to learn, teach, and create. As Teilhard said, "The worship of a modern person is through research and development." As Spinoza said, "To love God is to do our best to understand and emulate God." We create God as God creates us. This concept is called "autopoiesis."

Know what? I am, not only surprised, but humbled and ashamed for having assumed (which is something I don't like to do, and do my best to avoid) as well as the manner, tone and wording of my responses.

I'm not going to try and justify my demeanor, because, while there are reasons for it, do not justify such behavior (effectively making reasons irrelevant).

As such, I humbly apologize for allowing my emotions and lack of empathy take the better of me and dropping to such low levels.

You have proven me wrong in my assessment of you over a simple video post, and ask for your forgiveness. Some may think, "what's the point of asking for forgiveness from a total stranger that you're highly unlikely to ever meet, and whom you can remove from your life with a single 'click'?". Well, I want to keep growing as a person, and this requires that I set aside my ego, and pay attention to what my actions, or lack of them, can produce in others.

Additionally, I am very grateful for you taking the time to put me in my place. That shows that you are a person that loves other people, because only people that love try to correct with facts, and without using the same horrible tone and disregard that I used with you.

Because of this enlighten you have triggered, I will now try to edit my comments to your post and replies (I don't even know if it's possible, if not, I'll delete them and redo them), striking through my comments, and adding the corrention right after.

You are the type of person I am attracted to (what do the kids say today, "no homo"?), and I hope that some day we can sit down and discuss this, and other subjects over some lunch, coffee or just a nice breeze, hopefully with even more people with open minds and respectful demeanor to the opinions of the rest.

Immature, unnecessarily aggressive and childish. Those are the words that come to mind when I read it now, after the OP put me in my place, from what I believe to be a place of love, not an attempt to undermine or ridicule me. I am very sorry, and pray that this experience serves as a step for me improving as a human being. I should have more respect, more of an open mind, and a will to listen to other opinions without being judgmental and arrogant. Jesus, I still have so much to work on my behavior that I'm already feeling exhausted.

I ask you all (OP and any reader) to forgive my outbursts, and am extremely grateful that the OP chose to just counter me with facts, solid arguments and a show of how I should treat others, regardless of the situation.
