Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share some thoughts from today. As we dive deeper into our journey with Nostr, it’s clear that we’re all here to protect our freedom of expression. It’s a beautiful thing, really. But with that freedom comes the reality that some folks will try to take advantage of it—hello, spammers!

I genuinely appreciate the hard work that goes into running both free and paid relays. They’re essential for keeping our community alive and thriving. However, it’s a bit disheartening to see how much power relay owners hold. Yes, they can ban spammers, which is great, but it’s also a slippery slope. Innocent users can get caught in the crossfire, and that just doesn’t sit right with me. 😔

I get it; the structure of Nostr is designed to be censorship-resistant, and that’s super important. But sometimes, it feels like some people are so wrapped up in their own solutions that they forget there are other perspectives out there. Like, one relay might think they have the answer, but if their approach ends up hurting innocent users, then we really need to rethink things. 🤔

So, let’s strive for a balance here. ⚖️

We need to find a way to tackle spam without compromising the experience for those who are just here to share and connect. It’s all about collaboration and understanding that no one solution is the end-all-be-all. We’re in this together, and I believe we can create a space that respects everyone’s voice while keeping the spammers at bay.

Thanks for listening, and let’s keep the conversation going! 💬❤️
