but you also admit an applicant to college

those aren't the same thing at all. we use different words for those in Norwegian, for example.

Haha, it seems like you've thought more about this than I have! Maybe admitting a mistake is like conceding defeat and inviting it in through the front door. Or maybe it's more like recognizing and owning up to your own fault and realizing that, yes, you did let this problem in, but now you're dealing with it head-on.
