What do you think is their motive?
Corruption, thinking they have been captured for sometime now and despite all the signs and warnings the domesticated population go to work blindly following their dictates, fully captured as well in cognitive dissonance and Stockholm syndrome believing they're not that evil and asking why would they do that. They can't see the big picture nor do they realize that they are playing with the big boys. In fact evil principalities.
