Good morning #nostr fam! I hope your Sunday is awesome. I am thinking about getting one of these to play around with. I could use this for a Nostr relay, right? #asknostr

For the pi I might wait, the new rpi5 is out, and it is a lot faster. Hopefully there is an update to this line as well soon!

Silly question, nostr:npub1m64hnkh6rs47fd9x6wk2zdtmdj4qkazt734d22d94ery9zzhne5qw9uaks , wonder how well it handles graphic processing? I am not up on my tech enough to read the specs and know. Can you game on it? Not a deal breaker for me as I would use it for other stuff. Just curious.

This is a good overview of the new hardware. Probably not a graphics performer still, you can get cheap x86 minipc that will perform better, and be upgradeable. But you could try!

For basic games and emulation, it should work great!

Interesting. A PCIe slot? Wonder if you can hook an external GPU to it?

Good morning😊☕

I use a pi4 for a nostr relay. It works great. But definitely wait for the PI 5. I already preordered one. It's twice as fast for only 5$ more.

Any chance you could point me to a good guide? I'm not very technical but got pi4 ready

I just ended up installing Umbrel OS on the PI card and it's a super simple setup - https://umbrel.com/umbrelos

Fairly good option. Umbrel don't seem to support nip-24 though which helps to hide metadata and I'm quite interested in having support for that. How much disk space does the relay take and how much data do you tend to store every month?
