Mastodon went from 1.2M active users last week to 1.8M active users this week. That's not 70M users overnight, but it's something! 🙂

Mastodon is not the answer. Don't put your whole internet identity in the hands of reddit admins running feudal twitter clones.
it is a step in the right direction of user controlled social interactions but the graph and the identity are unfortunately tied to the instance and that is really little better than identity and graph being tied to a company
1,800,000 - 1,200,000 = 700,000 = 700k
Impressive, but much less than 70M.
