Google DeepMind CEO boldly declares Gemini to surpass GPT-4
Looks like ChatGPT and OpenAI are about to be humbled — at least that’s what Google Deepmind’s CEO thinks.
Demis Hassabis, cofounder and CEO of DeepMind (Google’s AI lab), says they are working on an AI system called Gemini, that will be more advanced compared to the one behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Gemini — still under development — is a large language model similar to GPT-4, but unlike GPT-4, it will feature new capabilities such as planning and problem solving.
DeepMind is the same lab that created AlphaGo ( https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2016/03/the-invisible-opponent/475611/ ), an AI program that was able to beat the world champion of the board game “Go” in 2016. The same techniques will be used to make Gemini better than other AI models.
