If Blockstream and Foundation can make for-profit, open source products, why can't Coldcard?

Answer: they can but they'd rather folks think of them as aligned with #Bitcoin's open source ethos while levying restrictions on their own source code.

My understanding is foundation copied the coldcard source code, and received VC funding. This made coldcard change the license.

They *used* the source code. That's the entire point of open source software: it permits the use of source code for any reason.

I can make a startup using Blockstream Jade firmware tomorrow. They don't seem too threatened by it.
