So the white liberal leftists and the mentally ill goomers hate this song because it is "muh racist", but by and large black people like it, especially rural blacks. Why? Because, the song has nothing to do with race for a start.
But it is bigger than that, the Stanford, Princeton and Brown educated Karens can't comprehend it, because it is as foreign to them as a day of hard work. This is not a song threatening to kick anyone's ass, as the left claims.
Rather this is a song about being proud to live in a "small town", where you do know your neighbors, people stand up for and help each other out. The entire line of "try that" isn't a threat, it is rather a bit of a brag.
The very fact that if you tried to tear apart places like this all over this nation, south, north, west, east, doesn't matter, would result in a beat down is WHY IT NEVER HAPPENS. It is like a red button, the fact that it exists means you never have to push it.
This song is basically we take care of our own, we don't want anything from you, we don't need what you think you have to offer, we won't be coopted into your bullshit and there isn't a fuckin thing you can do about it.
If you look up the percent of people that live in rural America it will say it is only 20% but this is misleading. Almost half the nation lives in "small towns" outside of urban ares, towns with populations of 1,000 -5000ish people. This is a song that gives those people a voice.
None of the crazy shit happens in these places, the people there simply will not allow it. While all the cities full of self important assholes erupt into riots every 10 years or so and cops harass kids selling cookies while drugged out people shit in the street.
This song isn't a threat, it is a brag, "our way of life is better than yours and we don't need or want your 'help' go fuck yourselves".
That is why the left really hates.
Why do they call it racist? Because everything they don't like is racist, I read an article yesterday saying white women wearing traditional pretty dresses is racist. The cry of racism means nothing any more. The term has lost all meaning.
Lastly, some say "this just isn't a good song" meaning musically. Okay you don't like country or you don't like "formula music", 99% of all music is formula music today. It is what it is, the message is the point.
Oh and if you don't like the message just know, the people sending it to you, don't give a fuck that you don't like it. In fact that is the entire point. ✋ 🎤
