what do we call this? where one should "always" oppose firings over a tweet (when it affects "their team") vs. later saying people should be fired over tweets (when it affects the "other team")

is this called hypocrisy or selfishness or something else?

In the first one he said "controversial tweet" - which could be almost anything - and in the second I think he's talking about folks celebrating an assassination.
