For the time being use a custodial lightning wallet for small amounts. Swap the sats into a non-custodial liquid wallet for anything you don’t need to spend. Once you have a substantial enough amount, like an amount that it would physically hurt you to lose it 😂 then even if the fees are still high it will be worth it to move them from there to cold storage on chain.

You have the option to use Monero when the fees are high to have liquidity and low fees, and when the fees comes down you know what’s you have to do
