Bitcoin history: exploit leads to soft fork.

Nobody argued that the transaction was valid because the code allowed it to occur. It was a bug and they fixed it.

And likely happens to altcoins all the time. Many undiscovered/hidden. Probably happened, is happening, and will happen to ethereum, monero.
