#Bitcoin mining leads in sustainable energy consumption, surpassing the banking sector.

According to an analysis by Daniel Batten, Bitcoin mining is globally at the forefront in terms of sustainable energy consumption, outpacing all other sectors. The study reveals that over half of the energy used in Bitcoin mining comes from renewable sources, setting a benchmark for other industries.

In comparison, the banking sector uses only about 40% renewable energy.

Notably, Bitcoin has consistently reduced its carbon footprint over the past four years. Batten's data indicates a 50% decrease in carbon intensity, making Bitcoin the most environmentally friendly among major global industries.

Hey

this is inevitable anyway. The guy is describing an outcome of something else.

There are two main factors here which doesn't have to do anything with sustainability.

1. #Bitcoin network is decentralized and not bounded to countries. Therefor will follow the cheapest energy source.

2. Renewable electricity sources are the cheapest available electricity source on earth since around the break even in 2015.

There is no other way for #miners than to do this. They are just faster than the dinosaurs to change. And yes, this will not stop. Even orgas like #bloomberg confirming now cause it is obvious.

Cheers
