Archaeologists have unearthed a remarkable discovery in Athens, shedding light on a curse directed at Glykera over 2,300 years ago.

Deep within the confines of the Kerameikos necropolis, a tablet emerged from the depths of a public well, bearing a chilling inscription: "We invoke the wrath of the underworld gods upon Glykera, wife of Dion, decreeing punishment and thwarting her nuptials."

Crafted from lead, the scroll exhibited an array of forms: some sections folded and studded with nails, while others bore resemblance to the contours of a liver or a miniature coffin. This artifact stands as the earliest evidence of ancient Greeks employing magical rites to hex their adversaries.
